Since the early 1990s the number of cases of AIDS for people age fifty and older has increased twice as fast as it has for younger adults. Conceivably, some older adults erroneously think they are not at risk in unsafe sexual activity. Of course, AIDS that is transmitted by blood transfusion knows no age barriers.
